Juve needed a draw to be crown the champions of Italy in claiming their second straight Scudetto, and their 29th in total, but they did better by winning their game thanks to Arturo Vidal's 59th-minute penalty.
The victory takes Juve 11 points clear of nearest challengers Napoli, who can no longer catch the pacesetters with only three rounds of matches left after this weekend.
Antonio Conte's men had to play out the final seven minutes with a man less following the dismissal of midfielder Paul Pogba for spitting at Palermo defender Salvatore Aronica, but it made no difference as Juve claimed their eighth successive league victory and with it the title.
While Juve were left to celebrate the championship though, Palermo's problems at the other end of the table increased with Sunday's results.
They had picked up 11 points from their previous five matches heading to Juventus Stadium but their defeat, combined with Genoa's win, saw them fall three points adrift of safety.
