Stupidity of a Supercar Driver
This incident was recorded in Russia. It shows how stupid and brainless some so called "Supercar" drivers could be. It started when the Mazda 3 driver (on-board camera) lets a pedestrian cross the road much to the distaste of the Audi R8 driver. This triggers the Audi R8 to vent his frustration by swerving in front of the Mazda 3 and then slams his brakes causing the Mazda 3 to come within centimetres of its rear end.

The player is said to have until Friday to appeal the decision, with the player's club stating they are "shocked and disappointed at the severity" of the punishment.
Suarez, 26, was caught on camera biting Ivanovic's arm during Sunday's 2-2 draw at Anfield.
Referee Kevin Friend did not see the incident and so retrospective action was taken by the Football Association, with Suarez and Liverpool accepting the charge of violent conduct on Tuesday.

Honda USA Re-Calls 225,000 units
Honda Motor Co. is recalling about 225,300 SUVs and minivans in the United States and Canada to replace a part that if not operating could allow the driver to shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal.
The Japanese automaker said in the United States it is recalling about 128,000 Honda CR-V SUVs and 59,000 Honda Odyssey minivans from the 2012 and 2013 model years, and 17,500 Acura RDX SUVs from the 2013 model year to replace a part of the brake shift interlock system.
In Canada, the recall affects about 14,000 CR-Vs, 4,500 Odysseys and 2,300 RDXs. Honda said no customer complaints, accidents or injuries have been reported related to the issue, which was discovered during an internal investigation.
In subfreezing temperatures, after initial use of a vehicle's gear-shift mechanism, it may be possible to shift the transmission out of park without depressing the brake pedal, Honda said.

Lengthier payment terms for car loans...
8 years to pay off a car? A report by the Wall Street Journal claims that in Q4 of 2012, the average car loan stretched out to 65 months, or just over 5 years. Loan terms were being stretched out over increasingly longer terms too, with credit firm Experian reporting that nearly 1 in 5 car loans had terms between 73 and 84 months long, with some stretching for as long as 97 months.
So why stretch out loans for such a long period of time? Per the WSJ
“[the] 75-month loan illustrates two important trends rippling through the U.S. auto industry. Rising new-car prices and competition among lenders to attract borrowers is pushing loans to lengthier terms. In part, banks see the longer terms as a way to attract buyers, by keeping monthly payments under $500 a month.”
Among the culprits cited by the WSJ are increased credit, low delinquincy rates on car loans and, according to banks, minimal downside as far as auto lending goes.
Melinda Zabritski, director of automotive credit for Experian, said the greater availability of credit is helping the surge in new car sales. The percentage of subprime loans isn’t far below the record level of 2007, and the length of loans is growing, she said…With increased competition between the banks for business, offering loans longer than 72 months, or subprime loans is one way to compete for new borrowers. “Consumers tend to be monthly payment buyers. One way that lenders compete is to offer longer term loans,” Ms. Zabritski said.
Interestingly, Zabritski claims that buyers qualifying for the longer loans tend to be those with good credit scores buying more expensive vehicles. But what nobody answered is “where is all this credit coming from?” As per our last report on auto lending, the appetite for auto back securities is enormous, and Wall Street cannot get enough of them. Sub-prime loans in particular are a favorite. At this point, nobody, not even Zabritski, is denying that the expansion of credit for automobile buyers is driving new car sales. The question is, what happens when the music stops?
Come to think of it and compare it to the Malaysian scenario, one could only imagine how far the Financial Institution is willing to go to attract their car loans business in this testing times where the cost of living is at its highest.
Mark Webber to race for Porsche in Le Mans series ?
Mark Webber is rumoured to have signed a five-year deal to switch from his current hot seat in formula one to Le Mans-style sports car racing from 2014.
The Radio Le Mans clams, citing information from the paddock of Sunday's Chinese grand prix in Shanghai, where the 36-year-old Australian endured an absolute nightmare of a race weekend.
China was just one race on from the 'Multi-21' team orders affair, and where rumours flourished that Kimi Raikkonen is being lined up to replace Webber at Red Bull next year.
Earlier this month, Germany's Bild newspaper reported that Webber and Porsche had been in contact about a deal for 2014, when the famous sports car maker intends to race a Le Mans-style LMP1 prototype.
A Porsche spokesman had not denied the Webber rumours, saying only that "Whether and to what extent additional drivers are added (to the existing roster) will be decided at a later date".
But AAP news agency quoted a Porsche spokesman on Monday: "There is a test plan (for Le Mans) and for sure Mark Webber is not part of them.
"We can have perhaps some formula one drivers in the future but it is not necessary."
The latest reports follow wild rumours that Webber's nightmare weekend in China, including fuel woes in qualifying and a wheel falling off during the race, is a Red Bull conspiracy to reinforce his de-facto 'number 2' status.
"He (Webber) has no confidence in his employer," wrote correspondent Simon Pausch in Die Welt newspaper. "And who can really blame him?"
But team boss Christian Horner dismissed the conspiracy claims as "complete rubbish".
Dr Helmut Marko added: "We don't put a car together for millions of euros only to deliberate sabotage it."
Even Mercedes' Niki Lauda had to agree: "No sane person could intentionally put a wheel nut on wrong.
"The cars do 320kph here and if one flies off, it is literally life or death."

Bugatti Veyron Sport stripped off TITLESHIP
Guinness World Records has stripped the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport of the title of fastest production car in the world after finding out that this car violated the rules since it was modified. The record was set three years ago in July 2010 with a speed of 267.8mph. The record was re-investigated after Guinness received an enquiry by Driving.co.uk, which said that the Veyron that attempted the record can’t be considered a production car since it had its speed restrictor deactivated. Each one of the 30 cars sold to the public had a speed restrictor. Guinness World Records released a statement last Friday, to confirm that in setting the record of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport as the fastest production car in 2010, there was an oversight in its adjudication.
PR Director Jaime Strang said that it’s against the official guidelines to deactivate the car’s speed limiter as it is considered to be a modification. As a result, it has invalidated the record established at 431.072 km/h. Because of this incident, Guinness World Records is currently reviewing this category with expert external consultants to make sure that its records are fairly reflective of its achievements in the field.
Under the company’s rules, the car that sets the record has to be mechanically identical to those that are sold to the public. It’s likely that the title will revert to the Ultimate Aero built by Shelby SuperCars that set a record of 256.1mph. Hennessey had also raised doubts about Bugatti’s record. Hennessey asserts that its Venom GT should be named as the fastest production car in the world. It claims that it has a top speed of 265.7mph but then, it has yet to record its speed under world record conditions, which states that an average speed has to be established over two timed runs.

The Doctor is Back with a BANG!
It was predicted that the 2013 season was going to be a vintage season for MotoGP. With a lot of the younger talents coming up the ranks, trying to challenge the more experienced riders, the 2013 season is definitely a season worth waiting for.
The first race took place yesterday and it was the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar 2013. With a so many former world champions and rookies on the starting grid, it was a perfect stage.
As the lights went out, a blistering start by Dani Pedrosa saw the Repsol Honda Team rider shoot up into second place by Turn 1, hoping to challenge Lorenzo who began to pull away on his Yamaha Factory Racing bike. However, Pedrosa's team mate Márquez, who endured a slow getaway was dropped to eighth.
By Lap 4, the 20-year-old Spaniard and youngest rider in the field had already passed Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso and then pulled a move on Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Cal Crutchlow, at Turn 1. Lorenzo already led Pedrosa by 1.6 seconds and would eventually stretch his advantage by half a second per lap as those behind him became engaged in a dramatic battle.
Márquez overtook Pedrosa on the 17th tour of the 22, leaving the latter to deal with Crutchlow as Rossi joined combat. The Italian stormed past the Englishman in a brave move between Crutchlow and the pit wall, only for the Tech 3 man to misjudge his braking point and run off-track at Turn 1. Rossi’s charge continued with maneuvers on Pedrosa and Márquez on Laps 19 and 20 respectively, only for the debutant to fight back as the pair went head-to-head.
Rossi would come out on top by just two tenths of a second, with Márquez becoming the first MotoGP™ rookie to seal a rostrum result in his first race since Lorenzo finished second position at Losail five years ago. Tonight, Lorenzo’s eventually winning margin was 5.9 seconds.
Pedrosa and Crutchlow completed the top five from Gresini’s Álvaro Bautista, Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden on the pair of Ducati Team machines, Pramac Racing newcomer Andrea Iannone and his teammate Ben Spies. Power Electronics Aspar won CRT honours, with reigning class Champion Aleix Espargaró finishing 11th overall and leading home teammate Randy de Puniet by 6.6 seconds.
In two weeks’ time MotoGP™ will head to pastures new, as the 18-round World Championship travels to Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Mitsubishi ReCalls 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander models
Over 8,000 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport models are being recalled for three different issues, affecting only 2013 model year vehicles.
Two separate recalls are being issued, the first of which involves the brake lights on the Outlander Sport. 4,539 vehicles manufactured from June 11, 2012 to September 11, 2012 may have brake lights that work intermittently or will continuously illuminate without pressing the brake pedal. Those same vehicles can also shift out of park without employing the brake pedal.
The second recall affects 3,724 all-wheel drive Outlander Sport vehicles and involves the possibility of a false fuel tank level reading. This is due to those vehicles being built without a fuel sending unit harness. Those vehicles were built from June 11, 2012 to December 11, 2012. It’s worth noting that despite 3,724 vehicles are being recalled, the Japanese automaker stated that only 14 of those vehicles are affected by the defect.
All affected vehicles will be repaired free of cost

Understanding Engine Displacement
Engine displacement of a car generally means the volume of an engine’s cylinders, a general indicator of its size and power. The displacement figure represents the total air displaced by the pistons in all of an engine’s cylinders and is expressed in liters, cubic centimeters or cubic inches. The size of these cylinders loosely defines the size of the explosion within, which is why displacement suggests an engine’s power. That said, many other factors affect an engine’s output, including the number of cylinders, the compression ratio within the cylinders and the induction system. Turbochargers and superchargers net higher engine output by forcing more air — and thus more fuel — into the cylinders, which results in a more powerful explosion than would occur in a normally aspirated engine, all other aspects being equal.
Engine displacement is determined from the bore and stroke of an engine's cylinders. The bore is the diameter of the circular chambers cut into the cylinder block.
To simplify:
Examples: The 427 Chevy bore is 4.312 in, and the stroke is 3.65 in, therefore the displacement for this eight-cylinder engine is:
3.1416/4 × (4.312 in)2 × 3.65 in × 8 = 426.4 cu in
Or: (4.312 in)2 × 0.7854 × 3.65 in × 8 = 426.4 cu in
If the bore is 10 cm and the stroke is 5 cm with four cylinders, the calculation is:
3.1416/4 × (10 cm)2 × 5 cm × 4 = 1,570 cc = 1.57 liters

Subaru ReCalls 220,000 units
The fear of a potential corrosion problem has led Subaru to make a recall for 225,000 units of it's Outback wagon and Legacy sedan models ranging from the 2005-09 model years.
In some of the affected vehicles, salt water can splash onto the brake lines through a gap in the fuel tank protector, resulting in excessive brake line corrosion. That corrosion can cause brake fluid leakage, which lengthens stopping distances thus significantly increases the risk of a crash.
About 200,000 of the recalled cars were originally sold or are currently registered in snow belt states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
Another 25,732 Canadian-market Outbacks and Legacys are also part of the recall.
No accidents, injuries or brake failures have been reported in relation to the Issue yet, Subaru says
To fix the issue, Subaru dealerships will inspect the vehicles, rustproof the affected area and, if corrosion has occurred, replace the brake lines.
The campaign isn’t Subaru’s first corrosion-related recall in recent years. Back in 2011, the Japanese automaker called back 295,000 vehicles to address front control arms that were at risk to fail due to extreme corrosion.
