FORD's Engine under investigation

FORD's Engine is currently under the investigation of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI). The NHTSA is currently looking into Ford sedans and SUVs following several engine surge and stall complaints.
It is said that the vehicles involved in the investigation include the 2009-2010 Ford Escape (including hybrid models) and Mercury Mariner (including hybrid models), and 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models including their hybrid varieties. If the investigation results in a recall of these models, more than 720,000 vehicles could be affected.
According to NHTSA documents, the engine surges and stalls are being caused by an electronic-throttle body malfunction. Automotive News reported Monday that the ODI has received 123 related complaints and that Ford Motor Company has received 1,472 complaints.

Ferrari ENZO Super Car goes rallying

I would take my hats off and bow to the driver(and owner, if they're not the same people) of this Ferrari Enzo super car. Anyone who is willing to tear up the dirty and muddy roads and backlots of a farm in a Ferrari Enzo super car truly deserves heep of praise, indeed. (There's a rumor the driver may be former FIA rally champion Harry Hunt, and if that's true, well, jolly well done, Harry.)
A multi million dollar super car being toss around dirty road and tracks is a very rare sight indeed. Just to let you guys know, to change the front bumper only will cost you RM 45k- 50k without the paintjob. That is how expensive it is.

First Corvette C7 crashed and not burnt...

One of the latest addition to the Corvette family, the C7 seeing in the picture crashed to a stone wall. It was believed that the driver of that unfortunate super car, was trying out the handling claim from the brochure when he lost control of the car and hit the stone wall. Thank god that nothing serious happened to either him or the stone wall. Things could have been worse.

Rory Byrne returned to Ferrari to assist with 2014 F1 car

Ferrari have brought back designer Rory Byrne to help work on their 2014 car ahead of the forthcoming radical rule change.

The South African helped design all seven of Michael Schumacher's Championship winning cars at Benetton and Ferrari, before retiring in 2006.

Byrne was spotted at the launch of the F138 at the Maranello factory and the Scuderia have confirmed he is assisting with the development of their 2014 car.

A Ferrari spokesman said the 69-year-old was working on the new Enzo road car project but also providing "operational support" on the 2014 F1 project.

German publication Auto, Motor und Sport had earlier quoted Byrne as saying he was "working full steam" on the car with the 2013 challenger looking like "child's play" in comparison to it.

Dramatic: Heli crashes while filming Corvette ZR-1 for TopsGear Korea

Extraordinary footage caught while the crew were filming an episode of Top Gear Korea, the South Korean version of the ever popular British television show, was released over the weekend.

The footage shows a crash that occurred during a stunt being filmed for the show’s latest season.

The stunt involved one of the show’s presenters, Kim Jin Pyo, trying to outrace a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter using a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar.

While everything goes well during the race, after both machines cross the finish line the helicopter starts to lose altitude and finally crashes into the ground.

The sequences was captured on film, including the reaction of the show’s host, who after the initial shock immediately exits the car to check the situation.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured and the only damaged was done to the Heli rather than the pilot.

Kia Motors just revealed its brand-new Forte 5-Door at the Chicago Auto Show today, including a powerful 201 hp turbocharged version.

The SX model will be powered by a lively little 1.6-liter engine. It may sound like a pretty small heart for a C-Segment hatchback, but wait a minute... it’s loaded with goodies. Those goodies is said to be including a turbocharger, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing. Looking at the bottom line it squeezes out 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers are a welcome boost over the base car’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The EX version of the Forte 5-Door is said to be delivering around 173 horsepower with a sufficient 154 lb-ft of torque.
As for the cosmetics/exterior of the car, It comes standard with sporty-looking 18-inch alloy wheels and dual chrome-plated exhaust tips that hint at the performance lurking behind its redesigned “tiger-nose grille.” The car also has larger front brakes and restyled fascias.
The interior is loaded with features as well. A navigation system with HD radio is optional, as is a sun roof, heated steering wheel and 10-way power driver’s seat.
